An Coiste Cairde
All parents and guardians of children in the school are members of the Coiste Cairde and all have played a great part in the success of the various Coiste events run so far.
The Coiste Cairde fundraises for the school and has so far supported the school in supplementing its facilities and resouces, in particular with additional Aistear materials. Coiste fundraising has also helped in establishing a school library. Fundraising events have included table quizes, school christmas cards featuring art work by the children in the school and supermarket bagpacking.
The Coiste also supports the school in creating an inclusive school community and fostering Irish within that community. Events organised to date include an ongoing monthly ‘Ciorcal Comhra’ held in the evening and allowing parents to come together to speak Irish. All are welcome, from beginners to those with rusty Irish and fluent Irish speakers. We have also held a movie night for the children in the school, which all the children loved.
